General Information

Absence from school?

If your daughter is absent from school and you have not notified the school via the Parent Portal/BCE Connect App before 9.00 am, or no previous written advice has been received, a text message will be sent to your mobile phone advising you of the need to contact the College to clarify your daughter's absence.

All absences from school must be explained by notifying the school via the Parent Portal/BCE Connect App or an email to the College. For extended periods, please provide a completed "Exemption from the College" form. Late arrivals and early departures must be accompanied by a note.

As our system relies on searching the student's family contacts for the first mobile phone number, it is important to have student details correct. Family details for current students can be updated on the Parent Portal via the Community Access tab on our website.

Accidents, Illness and the Sick Bay

If a student has an accident or falls ill at the College, appropriate first aid will be given by staff where possible. This assistance may include, where necessary, emergency ambulance transport to a hospital. During a normal school day, students may go to the Sick Bay which is located in the Student Reception area, when feeling unwell. If a student continues to feel unwell then parents and carers may be notified to come and collect their daughter.

Newsletter

The college newsletter (eVerigram) is on an online platform and a link is emailed to our college community every second Thursday. This is an important source of information about activities happening not only in the College but across the wider community.

Parent Participation

At San Sisto College, we understand that parents, carers and families are the first and most important influencers in their daughter’s lives. It is these people who instill the attitudes and values that will support our students as young people to engage with their education and contribute to their communities - both locally and globally.

There are a number of opportunities designed to communicate, engage and involve our parents available to view on the Parent Engagment section of the website.
