Message from the Principal

2021 has been a very special year of celebration as we have acknowledged the 60th anniversary of the College.  Our story is one of so many people, past and present.  We are grateful to the Dominican Sisters who had a vision for the Catholic education of young women in Brisbane. They provided the structure and purpose that has enabled this College to develop and grow to be the outstanding school that it is today.

As we look towards the Christmas period I would like to express gratitude to the following groups:

  • To the staff for the manner in which they have not only educated but welcomed and cared for each of the girls. Once again, this has been a challenging year that has required much adaption of pedagogy especially during the period of alternative learning.  The staff were incredible in their dedication to providing guidance and assistance to students.  We are excited as we look forward to the joys and challenges in our classrooms, offices and schoolyard in the year ahead.

  • To the members of the College Board and the Parents and Friends group for their continuing support during this year.  Also, to the many volunteers who work to ensure the best outcomes for our community. Thank you also to every parent for your encouragement of us in our vocation to educate your daughter/s (and especially for your guidance of your daughter/s during the time of at home learning).

  • To our students. Your enthusiasm for your learning and pride in your College serves as an inspiration for all in the community.  I would particularly like to acknowledge the Student Leadership team and the seniors of 2021.  We look forward to journeying again with those in Years 7-11 in 2022.

Work has commenced on the transformation of the café area.  Students returning in 2022 will have access to the new facilities. This will be the first stage in the refurbishment of the area with the covering of the Cecilia Square precinct to be completed during Term 1.

I would like to offer again to the community my sincere thanks for your support during 2021.  May you enjoy a peaceful and joyous Christmas, rich with the blessings of God.  I look forward to joining with you next year, excited about engaging with learning and ready to embrace our new theme—"Respecting all of God’s Creation”.

God’s blessing for a blissful and happy holiday,

Shelley Hamilton
