San Sisto offers a range of co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities for our students. Our variety of clubs, camps, and initiatives provides diversity and increases engagement with our students. We are proud to offer a wide range of activities to positively enhance students' sense of belonging and enjoyment.
Camps and Retreats
At San Sisto College, camps and retreats are an important part of the student journey, providing opportunities for students to build friendships, develop resilience, strengthen leadership skills and create lasting memories. Designed to complement learning and wellbeing programs, each experience supports students at key stages of their secondary education.
Year 7 Day Camp
Our Year 7 Day Camp helps students begin their San Sisto journey by building connections with their peers, developing a sense of belonging and becoming confident members of the College community.
Year 8 Adventure Camp
The Year 8 Adventure Camp encourages students to step outside their comfort zones through a range of outdoor and team-based activities. Students develop resilience, confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills while strengthening friendships.
Year 10 Leadership Camp
The Year 10 Leadership Camp challenges students to better understand themselves as leaders and prepares them for the opportunities and responsibilities of senior schooling. Through workshops and shared experiences, students develop communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
Year 12 Retreat
The Year 12 Retreat provides students with time to pause, reflect and celebrate their journey through San Sisto College. As they prepare for life beyond school, students deepen relationships, reflect on their growth and consider the values and aspirations that will guide their future.
Clubs, Activities and Enrichment
Every student is encouraged to get involved beyond the classroom through a diverse range of clubs, programs, wellbeing initiatives and service opportunities. These experiences help students discover new interests, develop leadership skills, pursue academic passions and form lasting friendships.
Academic Enrichment.
Students have opportunities to extend their learning through a variety of incursions, excursions, academic competitions, extension programs, and enrichment activities. Opportunities such as debating, homework club, academic competitions with other schools, STEM challenges and subject-based competitions encourage students to think critically, collaborate with others and challenge themselves beyond the classroom
STEM and Robotics
Students interested in innovation, technology and problem-solving can participate in STEM and Robotics programs that foster creativity, collaboration and practical application of emerging technologies.
Kokoda and Outdoor Challenges.
Experiences such as the Kokoda Challenge encourage students to develop perseverance, teamwork, leadership and resilience while challenging themselves in supportive environments.
Fitness and Active Recreation
From representative sport and recreational activities to programs such as Boot Camp and Run Club, students can participate in a wide range of opportunities that promote physical wellbeing, teamwork and personal achievement.
International Learning
At San Sisto College, learning extends beyond the classroom. Our international tours provide students with authentic opportunities to immerse themselves in new cultures, develop global perspectives and bring their learning to life through real-world experiences. Through language, history, culture and community engagement, students build confidence, independence and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Individual tours are offered subject to staff availability and operational requirements.
Japan Cultural Tour
The Japan Cultural Tour offers students the opportunity to experience Japanese language, culture and daily life firsthand. Students engage in cultural activities, visit significant historical and contemporary sites, develop their language skills and gain a deeper appreciation of Japanese traditions and society. The tour fosters global citizenship while creating lasting memories and friendships.
Italy Cultural Tour
The Italy Cultural Tour allows students to explore the rich history, art, culture and traditions of Italy. From ancient landmarks and world-renowned cities to immersive cultural experiences, students develop a deeper understanding of Italy's influence on the modern world. The tour also provides a meaningful connection to the Catholic heritage and history that continue to shape communities today.
Leadership Opportunities
Leadership at San Sisto College is about service, influence and making a positive contribution to the community. Students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills from the moment they join the College, with opportunities available across all year levels.
Middle School Leadership
Students in Years 9 can actively contribute to College life through our Middle School Leadership Program, which provides opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility and teamwork while representing the voice of younger students. Through a range of leadership roles and initiatives, students learn that leadership is about service, collaboration and creating a positive impact within the College community.
