Faith

Faith is at the heart of life at San Sisto College. Through Religious Education, prayer, liturgy, reflection and service, students are encouraged to explore life's big questions, deepen their understanding of faith, and develop the values needed to make a positive contribution to the world.

Religion classrooms are engaging and thought-provoking spaces where students explore Catholic teachings, contemporary issues and diverse perspectives, while learning how faith can inform everyday life. Students study Religious Education from Years 7 to 10 and may choose either Study of Religion or Religion and Ethics in Years 11 and 12, both of which contribute towards an ATAR.

Beyond the classroom, faith is woven into the daily life of the College. Prayer and worship are central to our community, with prayer celebrated in homerooms, assemblies and special gatherings throughout the year. Students participate in a rich liturgical life, including Community Masses, San Sisto Day, Opening Mass, Senior Commissioning and Year 12 Graduation celebrations.

Students also take part in Reflection Days and Retreats, providing opportunities to reflect, strengthen relationships, grow spiritually and consider how they can make a positive difference in their communities and the wider world.

As a Catholic community, San Sisto College is committed to nurturing the heart, mind and spirit of every student, empowering young women to live with purpose, compassion and confidence.
