VET Pathways

Vocational and Educational Training

Vocational Education and Training (VET) at San Sisto College allows students in Years 10, 11, and 12 to complement their studies with an alternate style of learning and approach to education.  Students can access VET in a variety of ways including internal courses run at school, courses run through private Registered Training Organisations and TAFE, through school-based traineeships and apprenticeships.  We also facilitate a work experience program from Year 10.

Many students access a VET program as part of their Senior Phase of Learning that ranges from Certificate I qualification to Diploma level of study.

Meet Nokutenda

Nokutenda is completing a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care through TAFE QLD.

"I chose to do this traineeship as it gives me an opportunity to have ajob whilst gaining a TAFE qualification. The Certificate III opens a range of job opportunities such as an OSHC teacher, kindergarten educator, a nanny and more. The biggest appeal was having a place to work that offers stability and flexibility whilst studying in uni."

Meet Chloe

Chloe studies towards a Cert II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology at the TAFE QLD Southbank campus.

"I chose Fashion and Design because I’ve always had an interest in sewing, art, and designing. I thought that this course would give me an insight into the fashion industry. I love how I get to venture off to a new place of study each week."
